The following are a few guidelines for visiting the Islamic House:
- Please take your shoes off upon entering the building. There are designated shoe racks for your place your shoes on. This is to preserve the cleanliness of the Islamic House and of the area of prayer.
- Women are not required to cover their heads at the Islamic House. This is only required for mosques, and the Islamic House is more of a community center with a prayer hall. However, it is considered polite to cover when observing a prayer service, but not necessary (at the Islamic House). There are scarfs for use at the Islamic House for anyone who does want to wear one.
- Modest clothes are recommended. This simply means not wearing anything that draws excessive attention to the self.
- Please let us know ahead of time if you are interested in visiting. This way we can make sure that there will be people to greet you and answer any questions you may have.
